Hello and welcome to my blog.

My name is Anamaria but I go simply by Ana.

I started practicing yoga a little over a year ago. I decided to take a break from my career to spend time with myself in an attempt to find out my life's purpose.

And what better place to start my journey than India, the birthplace of this wonderful and powerful science.

The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the Mind & Body, Human & Nature.

Anyone who practices yoga with involvement can enjoy the rewards and reap its benefits, irrespective of one’s faith, ethnicity or culture.Regular practice is the key.

It's not about what you can or can't do, it's about making the effort to try something out of your comfort zone to truly find yourself.

So tell yourself you're ready to take that plunge into yoga because once you start, you'll be so glad you did. You'll find that you will become more flexible, you'll lower your levels of stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression, you'll discover more time in your day, and you'll get stronger... physically and mentally.

If you feel intimidated about attending your first class in a studio setting, it may be beneficial to book a private session or two. This way you can familiarize yourself with some of the poses and terms as well as have one-on-one instruction to help with alignment.

If you can approach a yoga class with an open mind, the benefits will come easily.
